Around 12 Fair Isle goats were stolen from a paddock on a farm on Makino Road, 30 kilometres northwest of Raetihi over the weekend. The theft occurred between 7am and 3pm on Sunday, the estimated value of each goat around $130. A radio cassette player was also removed from the farmhouse in the same incident. Police enquiries are continuing. ★ ★ ★ Police are again warning skiers to take measures to secure their skis and boots after another weekend of ski thefts. Two pair of skis were stolen from the youth hostel in Clyde Street, Ohakune overnight Thursday. A pair of skis were removed the Ski Life Lodge, Turoa Village, on Wednesday night. A pair of boots were shoplifted from Sports Country, Clyde Street Ohakune, on Sunday evening, and a $350 leather jacket shoplifted from The Sheepskin Shop. Clyde Street, earlier on in the week.
