Dalgety Crown branches

The Australian group Elders Pastoral has bought the 16 Dalgety Crown branches in the lower North Island left out of the recent merger with Wrightson NMA. The deal includes the Raetihi and Ohakune branches, controlled from Wanganui. The Elders takeover means Wrightson will face a big competitor in the lower North Island leading to a competitive stock and station business. Staff employed at the branches still do not know their future. It is not clear whether Elders will employ all present staff or whether they will reduce branches. The takeover takes effect from 26 September.
