Fatal accident near Waiouru
Three people were killed and another injured after a head-on collision on State Highway One, eight kilometres south of Waiouru on Sunday. The accident occurred around 12.20pmat Irirangi, when two Mitsubishi cars collided. Two of the three occupants of the south-bound vehicle were killed on impact. . They were Wayne Alexander Herbert, 37, advertis-
ing manager of Wellington, and Lyn Sonya Spencer, 36, also from Wellington. The other passenger, Mrs Herbert, was flown by rescue helicopter to Palmerston North Hospital, where she is said to be in a satisfactory condition. The driver of the other vehicle, Judtih Anne Triplow, 36, a housewife from Taupo, was killed instantly. Her five-year old daughter, the sole passenger of the car, was uninjured.
