Soccer defeat
Waimarino United soccer team, beaten 2-1 by Cadets A on Sunday, are out of the knock-out cup. Waimarino scored first through another good goal by James Waerea but Cadets came back and eventually went ahead. A possible equaliser for Waimarino was not allowed, though the ball seemed to enter the goal and slip out through the top of the net. The game was close and fair and evenly matched. This was Waimarino United's last game of the season. They finished up second in both the league and the knock-out cup.
