Badminton successes

Recently several members from the Ohakune Badminton ciub attended two tournaments where they performed very well. At the Doreen Carter Memorial Handicap Tournament in Taihape on 26 July Peter Fenwick reached the final of the men's singles and was runner up after losing to Graham Walker of Waiouru. Jocelyn Cranston and Peter Fenwick combined well and were runners up

after reaching the final of the combines. Michael Edwards and partner won the plate round in the combines. At the Marton open tournament held in Marton on 2 August Theresa Chapman won the B grade ladies singles and combined with Kay Cranston to win the ladies B grade doubles. Kennith Young was runner up in the men's C grade singles and Kate Bates was runner up in the ladies C grade singles.
