Y-one concert

Ruapehu College was the venue for the Y-One '86 road show, Thursday 17 July. The Y-One group is made up of eighteen young people aged between 1 8 and 23, and is formed each year through the Youth for Christ organisation in Auckland. This year the message was stronger than ever, with emphasis on abortion, drugs, alcohol, domestic violence and peer pressure. Over 300 people turned out to watch the show from a much broader age group than previous years. Counsellors from the group challenged the audience to make a commitment to Jesus Christ, and offered their support. There were over 50 responses. The quality of the music and performances was as good, if not better than last year.
