News duo leave Ohakune
Rod and Mary Anne Gill, well-known in the district for their association with newspapers and with local sports clubs, move to Taumarunui today after three years in Ohakune. Rod was production manager for the Bulletin during his time here, as well as being secretary of the Ohakune-Karioi rugby club, president and player for Waimarino United soccer team and committee member for the Ohakune Club. Mary Anne has been regional reporter for the Wanganui Chronicle for the past year and before that reported for the Bulletin for about a year, both full and part-time. She appreciated her time on the Bulletin. "l am grateful to the Bulletin for giving me the start, and in particular to Dennis Beytagh who was editor at the time for having confidence in me," she said. In Taumarunui Rod is to be manager for the Taumarunui Gazette owned, as is the Bulletin, by publisher John Sandford. Mary Anne will report for the Taranaki Daily News.
