Under-19 narrow defeat
Ohakune-Karioi Under19 rugby team narrowly lost to Kaierau "Maroon" by 10-8 at Rochfort Park, Ohakune on Saturday. Kaierau used the wind in the first half to score 10 points but Ohakune were ble to come back in the second the with two tries from halfback Charlie Rahi. This was a good team effort by Ohakune-Karioi but forwards Neal Wood, Jerry Henare, George Pekamuand Neal Frederickson, halfback Charlie Rahi, first five Henry TeHuia and Andrew Wilde, who played half a game as fullback, all played well. The team is coming together well and should record a win soon, according to coach Warren Swain. Next week's game is against Kaierau "Gold" at Rochfort Park, Ohakune.
