Some time on Saturday night 21 June the Waimarino Club in Seddon Street, Raetihi was broken into and five dozen beer stolen. * ★ ★ On Saturday 21 June a garage belonging to Carmichael Transport in King Street Raetihi was broken into and a tool box and tools worth $2500 was stolen. ★ ★ ★ Some time between 6 and 20 June an unoccupied skier's house in Ranfurly Terrace Raeithi was broken into and $400 worth of clothing and bedding stolen. ★ ★ ★ On Friday night 20 June five cars parked in the courtyard of H.E. Webb Ltd in Raetihi had petrol siphoned from their tanks. The cars in the secondhand yard contained only small amounts of petrol. ★ ★ ★ A house in Seddon Street Raetihi was broken into between 19 and 23 June and a colour television set worth $1300 was stolen. ★ ★ ★
★ ★ ★ Ohakune Police are investigating the burglary of a house in Tay Street Ohakune which occurred between late Friday night and lpm Saturday afternoon. A video recorder was taken. ★ ★ ★ At 1.30am Sunday morning morning Ohakune police attended a motor accident when a Falcon utility collided with a power pole in Goldfinch Street Ohakune. As a result of the accident power was cut in parts of Ohakune for about three hours. The driver had left the scene by the time police arrived but they are continuing with their enquiries. ★ ★ ★ On Sunday morning police recovered a stolen motor vehicle taken from Manson's Siding near Rau— rimu. The vehicle, a beige Holden Kingswood ute, was found at Mangawhero Lodge near the Ohakune Mountain Road. ★ ★ ★ Police re investigating a burglary at Dalgety-Crown in Seddon Street Raetihi. The yard was entered and a 44-gallon drum of MC.T.B. thistle spray was stolen. ★ ★ ★ An unoccupied house up for sale in Hukuroa Street Raetihi was burgled recently. Enquiries are continuing. It is not yet known what was taken as the owner lives out of town.
