Under-19 team go down in first game
The new OhakuneKarioi under-19 rugby team were well-beaten 62-0 in their first game on Saturday but far from disgraced. They were defeated by Utiku, the top team and unbeaten so far, and Ohakune-Karioi did well against such a well-drilled team. Utiku have won some games by higher scores this season. After only one practice the Ohakune-Karioi boys never gave up. All players gave a good team effort with plenty of spirit. Coach Warren Swain said there was good potential and they should be doing quite well before the end of the season.
