Students to write regular column on Ruapehu College
This week sees the start of a regular feature in which Ruapehu College students contribute news about the school. It is hoped that the column will keep readers informed about the college and its involvement in the wider community. We also hope that readers
will take an even greater interest in the college as a result of the column. Contributors to the column are: Corrina Marshall, Richard Hamlin, Kylie Brebner, Frances Koorey, Rachael Hillman, Kenneth Phillips, Paulette Te Huia, Cherie Woledge, Helen Nelasani, Alison Berry, Brian Dowman and Liz Neutze. ★ * ★ Last Friday, 12 students competed in a trial to decide the team to represent Ruapehu College in a junior Mastermind competition to be held in Taumarunui. The competition results were: 1 G. Koorey, 2 G. Rogers, 3 H. Burgess, 4 A. Boulton. The team will travel to Taumarunui on Thursday 19 June. ★ ★ ★ Mrs Merrilyn George is on leave for three months. Her position has been filled at present by Miss Nancy van der Laan. ★ ★ ★ During the holidays, four new Commodore computers were purchased by the school. This brings the total number of computers to 1 2. ★ ★ ★ Senior examinations started on 12 June. This year is the first for the new 6th f orm certificate syllabus.
