Following an incident in Goldfinch Street on Sunday 1 June, Police arrested three local youths. They will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 19 June charged with disorderly behaviour. ★ ★ ★ Police would like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious acitivity on State Highway 49 at Karioi or Tangiwai over Queen's Birthday weekend. Lengths of copper telephone wire were removed from telegraph poles along the road east of the MSD Speirs mill at Tangawai, and west of the NZ Forest Service HQ at Karioi. The Post Office no longer required the wire and tenders were to be invited tor its removal. It could be sold for scrap metal. ★ ★ ★ A stereo was taken from an Arawa Street house in Ohakune after burglars broke in over Queen's Birthday weekend. ★ ★ ★ A vehicle was extensively damaged after colliding with another in Ohakune on Saturday, but no one was injured. The vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of Clyde Street and Raetihi Road after travelling along Raetihi Road. The vehicle struck the rear of another stopped at the intersection, and pushed it into Clyde Street. ★ ★ ★
