Turoa Tumblers retain shield
The junior squad of the local Turoa Tumblers gymnastics club retained the Inter-club shield when they defended it against gymnastic clubs from within the Wang-anui-Manawatu Association on Saturday 17 May. Results were: 1st Turoa Tumblers 7.92, 2nd Feilding 7.87, 3rd Wanganui 7.79, 4th Taihape 7.74. The shield is awarded to the club with the highest average score. Gymnasts performed with
credit at the first competition of the year. All participants received a bag of carrots to take home as a memento from the Waimarino! Donations to "Sport Aid" amounted to $55.00 and the Turoa Tumblers wish to thank all who donated to this worthy cause, as well as to all who helped in the running of this competition. The next gymnastic competition to be held in Ohakune will be the very popular "Vegymski" weekend on 20 and 21 September.
