Waimarino go down
Waimarino Unitedwent down 4—1 to Waiouru Cadets A team on Sunday. This was Waimarino's first loss of the season and puts Cadets on top of the table, and Waimarino second. The game was played at Ruapehu College in cold, wet and blustery conditions, and there was no doubt that the best team won on the day. Cadets looked a fit and strong team, and Waimarino, weakened by the absence of centre forward James Waerea, sadly in Wanganui Base Hospital after a car accident, were no match for them. John •Laurenson scored Waimarino's one goal. Waiouru's top team in the Northern League travelled to Auckland on Saturday for a Chatham Cup njatch and went down 11 — 1 to Onehunga-Mangere.
