Two cars collided at the same spot late last year. A Valiant Pacer driven by Ann Cook, from Lakes Road, which was believed to be making a U-turn, collided with a Holden Camira, travelling east along Clyde Street, driven by Bill Taylor. Both vehicles were badly damaged but the occupants of the vehicles were not seriously hurt. Ohakune Police Constable Brian Wilson said that a slight kink in the road there, coupled with a large number of parked cars and trucks, may make oncoming traffic hard to see.
