Ohakune mad-hatters celebrate

As a conclusion to a unit of work they had been doing on food, the youngest pupils of Ohakune Primary School held a 'mad hatters tea party' recently. All the J 1 and J2 children made their own hats and place mats as did their teachers. They shared and ate the fopd which each of the three groups had made during the week, including ginger bread, pikelets, bean sprouts, pop corn and ginger beer. Pupils ended the unit knowing about the preparation of food, where it comes from and different types of food.
