On Sunday morning, a passing motorist in Ruapehu Road observed a person climbing through the window of a house. Police attended but the person turned out to be the owner. However, the police said that they appreciated actions of this nature, because it was what neighbourhood watch was about. ★ ★ ★ Sometime between Thursday and Saturday morning, Ohakune-Karioi Clubrooms were broken into. Entry was gained by smashing locks. Police enquiries are continuing into the incident. ★ ★ ★ Several people have been spoken to by police after a letter box was wilfully damages in Raetihi over the weekend. ★ ★ ★ Two people were slightly injured when a vehicle hit a bank at the southern end of the Makatote Viaduct on Sunday morning. The two occupants of the car were from Auckland. Their car was severely damaged but is not beyond repair, said Constable Jim Gosman of the National Park Police. ★ ★ ★ Constable Gosman apprehended two men poachirig goats at Kaitieke on Sunday.
