Constable leaves National Park
After over four years as one of National Park's two policemen, Constable Lockett has moved to Auckland.
For three years in National Park, Constable Lockett has helped the local school children in their winter ski programme on Mt Ruapehu. He has enjoyed skiing and hunting while in the park and had mixed feelings about leaving the area. He has returned to Auckland, where he spent six years on the Auckland Warf Police before coming to National Park. Constable Lockett is now working for the Takapuna Police on the North Shore of Auckland where there is a staff of about 30. "111 be going from one extreme to another," he said. Senior Constable Jim Gosman is remaining at the National Park station and will be joined by Constable Ray Cobb who will come from Kawerau in a months time.
