Ohakune Police would like to hear from membqrs of the public who had a visit from three to four youths in an old chocolate brown van over Easter weekend. The vehicle was seen at a Karioi address just before midday on Easter Sunday and Ohakune Police know the vehicle was in Ohakune on the evening of Wednesday 2 April. ★ ★ ★ A vehicle was taken from Ohakune Junction between 22 and 28 March when the owner was away. The vehicle is a dark green Austin Gipsy truck with patches of white paint and a wooden canopy. Its registration number is CU7571. Sergeant Coker said the
vehicle would have had to be towed away from its Thames Street address and he would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle. ★ ★ ★ The Waimarino Bulletin office was broken into overnight on Sunday. The rear door was smashed and burglars entered the premises but it appears nothing was taken. The paper box outside the Waimarino Bulletin was smashed between 5pm and 5.30pm on Wednesday 2 April. ★ ★ ★ A spark from a chimney set alight a birds nest which was under the eves of an Ameku Road house in Raetihi yestereday. The Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade attended the first at 4. 1 0pm and there was minor damage to the house. ★ ★ * A substantial number of shearing combs and pieces of drench equipment was stolen from Dalgety Crown, Raetihi, overnight on Saturday 5 April.
