Helicopter display for Raetihi

Raetihi school children, and anyone else who is interested, will be treated to a display from the Taupo-based Philips Rescue Trust helicopter on Friday. The machine will land at the Raetihi Primary School at approximately 11.30am and will demonstrate its capabilities and rescue equipment. Piloted by John Funnell of Taupo Helicopters, the machine is equipped with sopisticated equipment for accidents and rescues in the central North Island. The helicopter is called for emergencies on the Whakapapa side of Mt Ruapehu and motor accidents in the area when an injured person requires urgent hospital attention.
