Waimarino softballers play Singapore
The Waimarino Softball Association men's reps recently played a touring Singapore softball team. The Singapore players were touring the country playing smaller association teams and the New Zealand under-I9 team. Many of the Singapore players were soldiers who did their officer training" in England. The Waimarino reps were to play the visitors in Taumarunui after a Maori welcome but the game was rained out so the two teams met at Wanganui mid-week on the 18 February, Singapore winning 10-6. The Singapore players were here for a month, ending their visit at the Pan Am nationals in Auckland on 1 and 2 March.
