ITC meeting

Nearly 60 women attended an International Training in Communication meeting at Ruapehu College on Saturday 8 March. The meeting was one of four Council 8 area meetings held each year, one of which is held in this area every two to three years. ITC members came from Pahiatua* Palmerston North, Hawkes Bay and Wanganui, the area which makes up Council 8. The day began with a business meeting and election of the Council 8 board which will take over in August. Following this the secretary of the Ruapehu ITC, Keitha Journeaux, conducted a workshop, before

lunch was served by members of the Waimarino Plunket Society. Later in the afternoon, guests had the choice of a short bush walk or a tour of the Turoa Alpine Ski Village. The Ruapehu ITC has 1 1 members and meets every second Thursday in Ohakune and fourth Thursday in Raetihi in local primary school staff rooms. At each meeting members give impromptu speeches and discuss techniques in self-improvement, leadership and speaking. Other topics covered include interview techniques, poetry and humorous speeches. Anyone interested in becoming an ITC member should contact Ann Greenwood or Keitha Journeaux.
