Additions and events at Ohakune Library

All the new van books are now on the library shelves. There will be a display of herbs in the library for the last two weeks of March. Mrs Hitchcock is arranging this, along with library books and some of her own books on the subject of herbs. A new magazine just in, is 'Tu Tangata'. I would be interested in buying it for the library if the general public find it interesting. The police haVe sent a series of booklets called 'Keeping Ourselves Safe' which should be of interest to all families and members of the public. These can be read at the library. There is a large range of magazines in the library, most filed in boxes for easier access, with the contents printed underneath. Most government departments send out pamphlets on their different sections and they are available too. Others are Soil and Water, Electronics, Engineering, Country Life and Farming Practices and a variety of others of general interest. If you have spectacles you no longer have use for, the library will have a collection box for all donations. These will be collected by the New Zealand Optometrical Association and sent to the Pacific Islands. C. Newton Librarian Ohakune Public Library
