Bovine traffic counted
Traffic counts carried out over the summer on the Wanganui River road have shown slightly higher numbers on the Raetihi-Pipiriki end than the other. At last week's county council meeting Cr John Martin said that the record showed one surprising feature — a count of 100 in one hour at the Wanganui end. No one could understand why so many vehicles would have been heading up the river road, and it was finally concluded that aherd of cattle crossed the counter!
