BOWLS
The winning team at the bowling tournament held in Ohakune on 12 January was made up of Ohakune and Raetihi players. Ten teams took part in the event which was held on Sunday 12 January. Members of the winning team were: skip R. Brown, 2 S. Beer, 3 J. Foster, lead T. Mosaed. Runner-up was B. Fluery's team from Turangi. Vi Brown's team recently won the bowling championships for Ohakune. The team will be going to the champion of champions in Wanganui in February. The team was skip Vi Brown, 2 Ethel Allerby, 3 Rita Kaiwhare, lead Christina Kaiwhare. Ohakune will challenge Taihape for the Simonson's Cup today.
