You are what you eat

f Wanganui now has a whoie foods lunch bar, 'Honey Nut Whole Foods', owned by Bev and George Skinner. The lunch bar provides an everchanging selection of delicious wholesome foods for those wanting something other than the usual sandwich, savoury and cake-type meal. Honey Nut Whole Foods is open Monday to Friday for lunches, morning and afternoon teas. Quality of food is very important and where possible, organically grown fruit and vegetables are used. Fresh salads are made daily and these vary according to season and availability of vegetables.

A very limited amount of dairy foods is used, as many people are now aware that dairy foods cause food allergies. Bev is also concerned about the use of colourings and flavouring^ that are so widely used in processed foods, and includes none of these in her cooking. No white flours or sugars are used either, and she uses honey and organically grown whole grain flours to replace them. The emphasis is on 'whole' foods, with presentation and flavours being very important too. Bev and her staff work in an open kitchen which is bright and sunny and enables them to attend to their customers needs more easily.

At the Shape Place, Ohakune's gymnasium, the fun and excitement of jazzergetics happens every day for men and women of all ages. Jazzergetics is a fitness conditioning programme to music which builds selfconfidence while moulding your figure and tearing off excess flab. Participating at your own pace is always encouraged, yet jazzergetics will challenge even the super-fit man or woman. It develops aerobic fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and strength — and it's great fun.
