Excitement for all
If it's adventure you're after this summer then the first place you should call into is Ruapehu Outback Adventures in Clyde Street. Don't be too disappointed if you miss out on one of the Tongariro National Park summer programme activities as Ruapehu Outback Adventures have guided walks through the park oryoucan hire outdoorequipment suchas sleeping bags, tents and tramping equipment from them. Other activities include horse trekking for either half or full days, jet boating from Pipiriki or Taumarunui, canoeing for half or full days or even three to five days, and scenic flights by fixed wing aircraft or helicopter. The company also have rafts for hire although operators Don and Sue Allomes stress the importance of a group rafting on a river suited to their experience and fitness. The Manganuiateao is suitable for the smaller rafts while the Tongariro and Rangitikei are for the keen and experienced rafters.
