Every Girls' Rally prizegiving

Many young Raetihi girls were rewarded for their hard work throughout the year at the Every Girls' Rally breakup and prizegiving recently. The girls, aged from eight to 13, meet in the Raetihi Gospel Chapel every fortnight for educational, sporting and spiritual teaching and work for badges on all sorts of topics. Alison and Judith Berry gained their Queen's Silver Award by sitting a two-hour written examination, attending rally regularly, showing good conduct and completing over thirty badges each., Every Girls' Rally is run by four leaders, Dawn Donaldson, Norma Weir and Linda and Margaret Berry. There are thirty members at present and any girls within the age group are welcome to attend. First prize for the year went to Alison Berry. 2nd Cindy Langdon, 3rd equal Emma Cornwall and Sarah Cornwall. Highly commended: Louise Penny, Janine Maru, Kathleen Kui.
