Pupils Valmai Probestel gave a Maori welcome and Fred Te Miha gave a whaikorero or talk. The junior section of the school performed 'Turkey Gobble', with pupil Natasha Billington as a ski turkey. The seniors acted out the play 'Three Little Pigs', which was written by Karl Pearson and Jason Schrier. The first pig was played by Andre Billington, second pig Lee Williams and the third pig Taron Breen. 'Little Red Riding Hood' was performed by Shelley Phillips. The pantomime 'Cinderella' was performed with Valmai Probestel taking the part of Cinderella, Sean Morrison, Widow Twanky, Donovan Morris, Ermyntrude, Bernise Rhodes, the fairy godmother, and Veronica Hansen, Prince Charming. Prizes were given to those who did well at the recent rural school athletics day. A presentation was made to Bess Becker, who was leaving after working as teachers' aid at the school for the past year.
