Three local men were arrested in Ohakune on the night of Friday 22 November for several burglaries committed during September and October. The burglaries were from Ruapehu College, a ski chalet, a caravan, a ski lodge and a business in Ohakune and some of the stolen items were recovered. The men will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 19 December. ★ ★ ★ Raetihi Police are following a definite line of enquiry on the incident last week when the Taihape Vet Club in Raetihi was blasted with shotgun pellets. Constable Travor Pullen said that he has spoken to
two Ohakune men who are assisting him and an arrest is imminent. ★ ★ ★ At 1 . 1 0am on Saturday 23 November a Raetihi man was arrested and charged with being in possession of a shotgun in a public place without sufficient lawful excuse.
★ ★ ★ One minute and 22 seconds after the fire alarm was sounded last Monday, a fire appliance was on its way to a fire in Goldfinch Street. The blaze, which was caused by a pot of fat on a stove, was extinguished almost immediately after the two appliances arrived.
