CNG gas leaked from the CNG tank at the Waiouru Energy Centre on Saturday morning. Police, fire services and a CNG technician from Marton arrived soon after. Part-owner of the station, Walter Baran, said that the leak was prpbably caused by a valve blowout. However he said there was no danger to people as

staff at the station turned all power off within seconds of the leak occurring. He believes about $30,000 damage may have been caused. The cause of the leak is being investigated by the Department of Labour. The energy centre will probably not be selling CNG for 1 4 days while the investigation is taking place.
