There have been a large number of burglaries in the Ohakune area over the last few weeks, Constable John Fraser reports. A group of brown chalets in Mangawhero Terrace, near Lee Street, were broken into and it is believed ski clothing was taken, although it is uncertain as the owners are away. ★ * * A Horopito chalet was severely damaged some time in thelast three weeks. Burglars entered the chalet through the roof by removing corrugated iron. Ski jackets are believed to have been taken. ★ ★ ★ A motor vehicle accident occurred outside Skiers Inn, Clyde Street, on Sunday morning. No one was injured when a vehicle making a u-turn collided with another vehicle.
