Plunket support grows
As President of the Waimarino Plunket Society I would like to thank the community for a greatly increased show of support. Although the amount raised represents one tenth of our budgeted costs for this year, the real significance of the appeal is that the community showed us that the services of a Karitane and a Plunket Nurse are needed. Undoubtedly the services are appreciated and the Plunket committees in both Ohakune and Raetihi will continue to work to ensure this integral part of our child health and developmental
care remains in the Waimarino. The Plunket Society would publicly like to thank others in the community for their interest in child health: Waimarino Sports and Recreation Committee grant of $50 towards our car replacement; Trusteebank Wanganui donation of $50; Winstone Samsung Industries Ltd for advertising support and Rotary an.d Lions for help towards training our new Plunket Nurse. Also thanks to the many people who have paid the $1.00 subscription to the Plunket Society, or who have donated the $20 that we estimate it costs per baby per year in the Waimarino. If you would like to be part of the kinship that develops in a working committee and become involved
in providing this service, contact Chris Windle in Raetihi or Rachael Fraser in Ohakune, as we would still, appreciate some new members. Thank you once again Waimarino — if the collector missed you at home and you still wish to donate, boxes are available at the two local chemist shops for the next two weeks. President of the Waimarino Plunket Society
