WOOL MAN

The New Zealand Wool Board has appointed Mr Murray McEwan to the position of Wool Production Officer for the region. Based in Palmerston North, Mr McEwan will cover the Wairarapa, Wellington, Taranaki and Manawatu regions, including the Waimarino, providing specialised wool production advice to locdl woolgrowers. Mr McEwan has a Diploma in Wool and Wool Technology from Massey University and a Diploma in Wool Technology from Lincoln College. Apart from a season in Christchurch as a woolclassing cadet, he has worked in the region since 1975 as a stock clerk, stock agent and, more recently, as a wool buyer for Prouvost Lefebvre. Since July, he has been working with Wool Board field staff throughout New Zealand. His appointment to replace Mr John Sullivan as local Production Officer takes effect from 1 4 October.
