Ernie's accolade for 50 years

Ernie Marshall was recently presented with a certificate by the NZ Brass Band Association commemorating his 50year membership of the Ohakune Brass Band. Ernie has played most band instruments in his time including baritone, euphonium, tenor horn, cornet and flugelhorn. "I just fill in wherever they are short," he says. His iather, who was a foundation member of the band in 1908, taught him to play and he joined the band when he was still at primary school. Ernie enjoys music in his spare time preferring light classical, but "not modern," The Ohakune Brass Band hope to begin public, performances soon.
