Raetihi sewing course
The REAP Community Education Service, together with the Wanganui Regional Community College, have organised a weekend course on Stretchknit sewing in Raetihi on 2 and 3 November.
All you need to sew stretchknit fabrics, is a sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch. It is extremely easy sewing, much easier than conventional sewing — so much so that it is a small step to drafting one's own modern patterns. The November course will cover T-shirts, underpants, singlets, panties, tracksuit pants, sweatshirts and skirts, as per Beverley Sharp's books. The tutor will be Julynn Gray from Wanganui who has considerable experience in leading such courses.
