Organising Veteran's Handicap
The Waimarino Golf Club is playing host for the 13th New Zealand Ladies Union Veteran's Handicap Foursomes National Tournament from 11 to 15 November. The tournament is held annually at different clubs in the country and it is the second time it has been held at Waimarino. The first time was in 1977. Golfing ladies from all over New Zealand will attend. . .about 100 are expected. They must be 50
years or older and the combined handicap of pairs must not exceed 52, said the secretary of the Waimarino Golf Club, Audrey Pritt. ★ * * Five members of the Waimarino Golf Club won the Zone Four finals tournament in Marton last week. The Waimarino Club won the finals in 1 980 and '83 and again this year. Those in the Waimarino team were: Pauline Mowat 10 holes, Rosalie Goyle 6'A, Kay Cranston 11, Vida Whale 10, Belty Berridge 9.
The overall points were 24V/2. Other tearns in Zone Four are Marton, Mangamahu, Wanganui, Castlecliff and Tawhero. The team will go on to play the Manawatu- Wanganui area in October. ★ ★ ★ The ladies champion of champions tournament for the Waimarino Golf Club will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at the club. Those competing will be the silver division, bronze one and bronze twp.
