OHAKUNE VALUATION

The five yearly general revaluation of Ohakune Borough has been released resulting in a gross capital value of $58.76m compared with $30.22m in 1980. Land value increased from $1 1.06m to $2 1.58m as at 1 July 1 985 according to a statement released by the Valuation Department's District Valuer Mr M. R. Henshaw. Since the time of the last general revaluation as at 1 July 1980 steady increases occurred in all classes of property through to mid 1984. During the twelve months preceeding the revaluation values continued to rise but at a slower rate than previously. The revised values reflect the fair market value as at 1 July 1985. Officers of the Valuation Department will be available at the Ohakune Borough Council office 24 September. 1985 between 10am and 3pm for property owners who wish to discuss their new valuation.
