TUMBLERS
Three gymnasts travelled to Napier to compete in the National Championships. Allan Prince was placed 7th overall and chosen as reserve for the New Zealand team to tour Austraiia as well as being chosen for reserve he was also chosen provisionally for the TV New Zealand junior gymnast of the year, an event which will be televised. Helen Hubbard came 2nd overall with a silver medal in Grade 1 and was chosen again for the New Zealand intermediate squad. Overall placings Allan Prince 3rd on vault, 2nd on floor, 1st compulsory high bar. Helen Hubbard 3rd on vault, 1st on bars, 3rd on beam, 3rd on floor - as a result second overall. Turoa Tumblers first medalist in the National Grades (2nd in New Zealand). Susie Mcllroy was unfortunately unplaced but will surely be up there again next year. With Warren Scott being Turoa Tumblers first international it looks as if Alan Prince may be their second.
