New hire centre opens in Ohakune

Everything from welding and farm equipment to rubber rafts and exercycles can now be hired from Graham and Jane

Dixon's new business, the Dixon Hire Centre. The new business is a subsidiary to Graham's established business, Dixon

Engineering, which is located in Burns Street, Ohakune. Graham says they decided to open a hire business as they were lending much of

their engineering equipment out anyway. As well as hiring out their own equipment the Dixons will obtain additional equipment from Rush Hire, of Feilding, until they buy all the equipment they need. "We will have the equipment up in one day from Rush Hire," says Jane. The hire centre will be in the building at the rear of the existing Dixon Engineering workshop, until a new workshop is built later this year. The Dixon Hire Centre will be equipped with gardening tools, welding equipment, fridges, bar equipment, clothes dryers and washing machines.
