Footpath priorities

Ohakune Borough Council's works and reserves committee has set its footpath upgrading priorities for the year.

Top of the list is Ayr Street between Goldfinch and Rata streets, followed by a portion of Arawa Street near Clyde Street, outside the council chambers, and the Wye Street walkway

between Miro and Arawa streets. Deputy Mayor Errol Sue said he felt that the area which should be given the highest priority was between the Cedar Mall shopping centre and Clyde Street. The works' committee is to look at this section and report back to the council. Streetwork priorities for 1985/86 have also been set and approved in the National Roads' Board programme. Mangawhero Terrace Extension, Conway Street and Shannon Street are listed in that order.
