Territorials' passing out parade

Seventy-one territorials took part in a passing out parade at the Waiouru army base last Saturday. The territorials had just completed a seven weeks full-time training course.

They were the 44th intake of territorials to complete the course. One hUndred and^seventeen trainees began the period of training, but 46 didn't last the full seven weeks.

The groups spent the first three weeks training together and the next four weeks doing specialised training at a number of different military camps. Those territorials who

were receiving purely infantry training spent the whole of the training period at Waiouru. The reviewing officer at Saturday's parade was Colonel Graeme Birch from Palmerston North.
