New president for Lions' Club

A dinner was held at Ruapehu Lions' Den last week for the annual Lions' changeover of officers. The incoming president, Mr Michael Crowley, of Raetihi was inducted by the zone chairman, Mr John Paul, of Wanganui. Mr Crowley took over as president from Mr Jim Cranston. Mr Johnny Nation of Skiers Inn Dairy, Ohakune was made an honorary member of the Lions' Club at the dinner because of his

consistent willingness to help the club. Mr Nation has been unable to join the club because of work commitments, but outgoing president, Mr Jim Cranston, said that he is always willirig to help the club whenever possible. Mr Nation is the first person to be made an honorary member of the Ruapehu Lions' Club. Projects currently being undertaken by the Ruapehu Lions include work on children's playgrounds in Raetihi and Ohakune.
