Waiouru Community Advisory Committee

The following subjects were discussed at Monday's meeting of the Waiouru Community Advisory Committee:One hundred and eightythree Fisher fire places have been installed in homes in the Waiouru Military Camp to date, and it is /planned that more will be fitted

during the next two summers. There are 680 houses in the camp and those with chimneys in a poor condition will have their fires replaced first. ★ * ★ Concern was expressed at the meeting about the number of dogs roaming the

Waiouru Community Centre. The Community Advisory Committee expressed the hope that there will be more enforcement from the dog ranger in the future. ★ ★ ★ The military police contingent at the camp is now up to strength and is able to take a higher profile in the

community, says Mr Peter Bright, secretary of the Community Advisory Committee. When patrolling the camp, the military policeman will be watching for the people who are responsible for recent thefts of milk bottles, milk tokens and crates.
