Samuels was convicted and received a 12 month suspended sentence. She must pay $100 toward the cost of the prosecution. ★ ★ ★ Murray Kenneth Brown, 27, painter decorator, of Ohakune, pleaded guilty to driv-
ing with excess breath alcohol on Miro Street, Ohakune, on 12th April. The level was 900:1. Brown was fined $365 and disqualified for six months. Mr Harvey appeared. ★ * ★ Richard Kingi Ormond, 27, bushman of Raetihi, was fined $75 for possessing a .308 Remington rifle while not being the holder of a firearms licence. Ormond shot a wild animal with the
rifle at Raetihi on 13th April. ★ ★ ★ John Remus Transport Ltd, of Taihape, was fined $ 1 5 for using a vehicle with a load exceeding maximum length on State Highway 3, Hawera, on 7th January. The company was convicted of using a vehicle with excess width and a vehicle not displaying a distance licence on State Highway 1, Mt View, on 5th March. The company must pay $35 costs on each charge.
