Racing with BULLY

Focus this week will centre on Hawkes Bay again and as a lead up to the Wellington winter meeting, the performance of hurdlers and steeplechasers will be keenly watched. My two early picks for Trentham are Outright in the Trentham Hurdles and Tarawera in the Wellington Steeples. Tarawera is a better than average chaser. For one to make a race of it have a look at Farfella. A very promising couple of performers were seen out at Manawatu and they were Ellen Kileen and Scorching Bay. The former won a good double while the Bill Skelton trained Scorching Bay turned on a very impressive performance and I am sure a lot more will be heard of this speedster. Don't forget him. I am staying with Passive Prince at Hastings and another good performer

could be Strategy. The Foxton trained Berceuse is just about ready to salute the judge so mark him down as an early winner.

Our Waikato spy reports from Matamata that Troubled Water is doing great work and looks to have that winning shine on again.
