Community College 'upholstery weekend'

Nine Ruapehu region women took part in an 'upholsterv weekend' at Ohakune Primary School on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend was organised by the Wanganui Community College, with Wanganui upholsterer Robert T odd doing the teaching. AlFthe women were trying to upholster for the first time, but Mr Todd said the standard was very high. Mr T odd has taken a number of upholstery courses for the Community College, but this was the first time one has been staged in the Ruapehu region. The nine 'students' were all very enthusiastic and picked up the necessary skills quickly, Mr Todd said. As a result of the good response to the course Mr Todd hopes to stage another in the area in the near future, but a final decision on the matter will be taken by the Community College.
