$43,000 four wheel drive tractor sold by Raetihi company

Reynolds Motors in Raetihi recently sold this $43,000 Ford tractor to Oruakura Station, a Maori block of 19,000 acres.

The tractor, a Ford 5610 four-wheel drive, has a fitted front end loader and a Campbell cab; both of which were fitted by Reynolds in Raetihi. The tractor's great versatility will enable the block's farmers to do everything themselves, without employing contractors. Oruakura Station is a sheep and cattle farm situated behind the man-made lake between Turangi and Taumarunui. The tractor has eight forward and four reverse gears, but use of the 'creeper' gearbox gives it twenty-four forward and eight reverse gears, making it ideal for almost every farming situation. The 5610 is powered by a big-bore short stroke fourcylinder diesel engine.
