All ready for winter at Piper's Lodge
An extended licensed restaurant is one of a series of improvements which have been carried out at Piper's Lodge in National Park over the summer months. The re-modelled restaurant will open in July arid will be able to seat fifty people. The Lodge's proprietors, Lesley and Brent Piper have employed a chef for the winter season, whose experience includes working at the Sheraton Hotel in Auckland. There will be a fixed menu during the week and a la carte at weekends. T ransport from the Lodge's doorstep to the ski-slopes
will also be available for guests this year for the first time. In previous years skiers had to change buses at the Chateau on their way to the mountain. "It will be a lot easier for people now," claims Auckland based Mr Paul Piper, "especially for families with small children." There have been many enquiries about accommodation for both the Lodge and Piper's Kings Court in Ohakune, with good bookings for July, which is usually a hard month to sell, claims Paul.
