Video Bill returning to Turoa
A film promoting Turoa Skifield will be shown on nation wide television in Australia for the first time next week, thanks to Bill Adams — who is better known around the slopes as 'Video Bill'. While working for Australian television in Sydney over the summer months, Bill persuaded his employees to screen video footage about Turoa and the Ruapehu region in general. The ten-minute item will be part of a forthcoming 'Good Morning Australia' programme. Bill was in the Ruapehu region last week, but has. now flown back to Australia with Turoa Skifields' boss Mr Tony Wright, who will be interviewed as part of the television item. Bill believes the video will be a good promotion for the skifield, "because many Australians don't even know we exist — they think the only places to ski in New Zealand are in the South Island." In addition to the clip, Australiari television will be broadcasting snow reports for Turoa Skifields twice weekly during the season. As a follow up to next week's item, an Australian film crew will be visiting the skifields in July. Bill has been coming to Ohakune every winter for the past four years and has made a living videoing skiers for the last three years. During the summer, Bill and his wife Kim return to their home in Sydney where Bill works as a tape editor for television and does freelance video work.
